Sunrise Residential Treatment Center and Boarding School for Troubled Teen Girls

Help for Troubled Teen Girls

Finding the right kind of help for your troubled teenage daughter is the first step to getting her back on a successful and meaningful path in life. The typical length of enrollment for our students is 6 to 9 months. Parents understand that in order to help achieve lasting change, their teen daughter must complete their full program to reach their full potential. Our teen girl therapy maximizes the clinical, academic and residential experience for our students, helping lead them to success and genuine change.

The following are characteristics of the typical problems treated by our team at Sunrise residential treatment center and boarding school for teen girls. This is not an exhaustive list, but is a brief sample of common admissions:

  • Depression

  • Bi-polar issues
  • Personality Disorders

Sunrise insists on a selective admission policy to help maintain the positive environment we believe is necessary for personal growth and change. Often troubled teen girls with negative behavior are unable to correct that behavior when entering residential programs that have high enrollments. Our enrollment of 16 per house at any given time allows for individualized and focused treatment of a variety of problems for struggling teen girls 13-17 years old.

Common length of stay for troubled teen girls

Hospitals have traditionally treated adolescents in an emotional or mental health crisis. Most Residential Treatment Centers or Boarding Schools usually require a 12 to 18 month length of stay, where Sunrise utilizes a different approach, and which helps achieve results with our students in a shorter amount of time. We are a fully licensed and accredited residential treatment center (RTC). We have created a positive, family-style environment where our girls find their own empowerment, independence, and gain emotional maturity. Our length of stay tends to be shorter than many other RTCs, because we help individualize each girls treatment plan and maintain a small community for the girls to interact in. We have no predetermined notions about how long any given troubled teen will be with us. Like so many things at Sunrise, length of stay is individualized to meet the needs of each student.
